Welcome to the Corner.
Hi, I’m Dr. Masadeh. Chemistry has surprises everywhere—from the molecules in chocolate to the colors of fireworks. I hope you find something here that makes you smile and wonder.

Private aggregate statistics help improve the Corner: popular pages, games, practice topics, hints, searches, chosen learning paths, devices, and broad traffic sources. Random browser IDs estimate visits and returning browsers. Activity tracking saves no names, emails, answers, grades, raw search phrases, or IP addresses. Only recognized chemistry and course words from Find searches are retained.
Country, state, and city are approximate. If the host cannot provide them, a browser lookup to IPWhois receives your connection IP and returns coarse location. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are respected. Browser storage saves learning progress and your audience choice locally; clearing it resets those choices. Statistics are visible only to Dr. Masadeh. Messages you choose to submit use the separate form’s privacy and publication choices.

A career in chemistry.
A passion for making it click.
Dr. Esmaeel M. Masadeh
Professor of Chemistry
From university classrooms to molecular research and hospital laboratories, my career has connected chemistry with the world beyond the textbook. For more than three decades, I’ve helped students explore the questions, experiments, and ideas that make this science worth knowing.
Explore the experience behind the Corner
Research that looks beyond the obvious
At the University of Nevada, Reno, my research explored molecular devices designed for sensing, switching, motion, and biochemical interactions. At the Desert Research Institute, I developed microscopic chemical imaging methods to characterize atmospheric particles and investigate pollution sources.
Chemistry with a healthcare connection
As a medical technologist in the coagulation laboratory at Duke University Medical Center, I performed laboratory testing that supported diagnosis and treatment. That experience gives me a practical connection to the chemistry biology and nursing students encounter in their studies.
Ideas shared with the scientific community
I presented chemical-imaging research at the Goldschmidt Conference in Vancouver in 2008 and the Air & Waste Management Association’s annual conference in Detroit in 2009.
A broad foundation, a student-centered approach
My teaching spans general, organic, analytical, and physical chemistry, with experience in classroom, laboratory, and online instruction. My academic journey includes Yarmouk University, Middle East Technical University, and the University of Nevada, Reno with the Desert Research Institute.
Why I created Chemistry Corner: To make room for curiosity, discovery, and a good laugh. Whether you’re exploring science for the first time or preparing for a career in healthcare, I want you to see the chemistry in your world—and feel welcome asking questions.
